After leaving Yazoo Alison signed to CBS and began her solo career. In 1984, Alison released her debut solo album Alf. .Alf was co-written by Jolly & Swain and Ailson, with the exception of “Invisible” which was written for Alison by Lamont Dozier. Alf was a big hit in the UK, reaching No. 1 in the UK Album Charts. Alf spawned three international hit singles, Love Resurrection, Invisible and All Cried Out.
