D:Ream: Limited Edition Prints: 150 A0: Unframed
The first Cover for D:Ream On vol 1 1992/3 and my new take as an art piece.
My self and Peter, before Photoshop was around went to my colour lab who had Paintbox system: A program used on Quantel computers. Fortunately we had an operator to use this machine, all part of the £300 per hour charge. We had two hours to get what we needed, no pressure there then!. I had head shots of Peter and Al on Polagraph 400 which was an instant slide film you could process there and then after you had shot it. Made by Polaroid (sadly no more). Loved this film the only problem was it was delicate and could scratch very easily.
We had 2 images which we were scanned into the machine which looked great.
When they were up in the screen. They were scanned in sections one being solarised, both Pete and I said that looks great lets work on that. Pete’s face was the main image and Pete had the great idea of putting Al as his right cheek bone which looked awesome. We added some colour to give it some depth. We came out very chuffed with ourselves thinking we’ve created a work of art.
After the Labour Party with Tony Blair used it as the theme tune “Things Can Only Get Better” The song then shot to no one position.
The Record Company decided to re shoot the front cover ( with me of course ) giving it a much more pop feel rather than an indie feel.
