Blondie broke up after the release of their sixth studio album The Hunter
The band reformed in 1997, achieving renewed success and a number one single in the United Kingdom with “Maria” in 1999. The group toured and performed throughout the world during the following years, and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2006.Blondie has sold 40 million records worldwide and is still active today. Their ninth studio album, Panic of Girls was released in 2011.

The roof certainly wasn’t part of the official itinerary. But sometimes the best locations are the ones you’re not actually meant to use. It had the right light, the right atmosphere and, more importantly, it got us away from the usual hotel rooms, press offices and endless photocall backdrops.
Debbie was still holding the pen she had been using earlier that day at the Our Price record signing. She’d spent what seemed like hours signing albums for the queue of fans, so I’m not entirely sure there was any ink left in it by the time we got up onto the roof.
This wasn’t a carefully constructed studio portrait. It was Debbie, on a London rooftop, still carrying the evidence of the day’s madness.
And, of course, she still managed to look cool.
That was Debbie.
The whole day had been fairly chaotic — Then we ended up on a roof we probably shouldn’t have been on, with Debbie still clutching the pen she’d been signing records with.
Looking back, shooting from the hip was fun, ish!
